Crystal Lakes and Beaver MeadowsThe subdivisions of Crystal Lakes and Beaver Meadows, about 50 miles from Fort Collins, are reached via CR 73C which leaves 74E just past the Red Feather Lakes Village. CR 73C is also known as Creedmore Lakes Road because it takes you to the lakes (named after an early pioneer, Bill Creedmore, who hunted in the area). However it changes designation to CR 180 at some point along the way to joining up with CR 179 Prairie Divide Road at Kelley’s Corner, and thence to 80C, Cherokee Park Road. The vegetation at this elevation (8,000 to 9,500 feet) ranges from grassy meadows to stands of aspen and pine and there are several lakes in the area. Don Wexielman developed both of these subdivisions and has his development company at Beaver Meadows. Crystal Lakes
These buildings are the headquarters for the Crystal Lakes Subdivision. Their website is http://www.crystal-lakes.org/. From the website: Established in 1969, Crystal
Lakes contains approximately 1,600 lots distributed over more than 4,800 acres
surrounded by the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests at elevations ranging
from 8,000 to 9,500 feet. Many other property owners enjoy camping on their
property under covenants which permit temporary shelters (trailers and RVs) for
up to 5 months per year. Privacy and seclusion have been preserved by lot sizes
generally ranging from 1/2 to 10 acres. Approximately 10% of the land area
within Crystal Lakes has been set aside as open space for the common enjoyment
of property owners, guests and the abundant wildlife inhabiting the area. A view of the Mummy Range from Creedmore Lakes Road, January 2009. Beaver Meadows Dude Ranch and Winter Resort
