Land stewardship

The following organizations are involved in helping preserve our natural heritage.

• The North Fork Weed Cooperative (click for website and a history of the organization) is a group of private landowners and public land managers who have agreed to manage weeds across boundaries in the watershed of the North Fork of the Cache la Poudre River, formed in 2000. 

• Glacier View Meadows Ecology Committee provides information to the Road and Recreation Board and to the Glacier View property owners regarding any ecological issue, positive or negative, that affects the well being of the Glacier View Community, and provide leadership and volunteer time on noxious weed management.

• Eagles Nest: Eagle's Nest Open Space, near Livermore, provides breathtaking views of the Laramie Foothills. It is a local landmark, as well as home to nesting golden eagles. In fact, eagles have nested here for over a hundred years! • Owl Canyon Pinyon Grove, a group of pinion pines was designated in 1978 as a Natural Resource by the Colorado Division of Parks.

• The Nature Conservancy (http://www.nature.org/ ) is an organization that has "protected more than 117 million acres of land and 5,000 miles of rivers — and [operates] more than 100 marine conservation projects globally."
